Preteen Social Skills Group
Who: Boys and Girls ages 11-14 with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), Asperger's Disorder, or PDD-like symptoms
When: Monday evenings, 6:30 pm-7:30 pm
This psychotherapeutic group focuses on the development of social skills, specifically social interaction and expressive communication. Preteens with social skills deficits are likely to benefit from hands-on learning and structured therapeutic activities. Through the use of music, body movements, arts and crafts, role-play and therapeutic games with discussions, participants learn better conversational skills, understand nuances of verbal and nonverbal communication, and develop meaningful friendships and relationships.
